A Look Back at the Remarkable Game Between the Heat v Clippers Last Night!

Wednesday night’s Heat v Clippers match was undoubtedly one of the most exciting, and satisfying, games of the season, and you can bet the Voice of Miami was avidly watching. The nail-biting game ended with the Heat taking the lead for a very close 116-112. The Heat had lost 10 of their previous 12 road games against the Clippers and hadn’t beaten them at Staples Center since Dec. 9, 2007, but this game turned that streak around.

It was the Heat up 18 early, up seven at halftime, back up by double digits in the third and then in a fight to the finish in the fourth. The Miami Heat played the final minutes the way championship teams are supposed to: LeBron James had 31 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds, Ray Allen hit a clinching 3-pointer in the final minute, and the Heat snapped a five-game road losing streak against the stubborn Clippers for the win.

Miami’s ball movement was superb from the outset, with the Heat recording assists on all but one of their first 18 field goals and building a 43-24 lead with 9:44 left in the second quarter. The Heat had 33 assists on 41 field goals overall.

“We pride ourselves on moving the ball, and we know that makes it easier for all of us,” James said. “We keep everyone in a rhythm when we’re passing the ball and sharing the ball.”

Wednesday night’s 116-112 victory at Staples Center was just the first stop of a six-game trip that won’t have the Heat back at American Airlines Arena until Feb. 23, but about the only thing that likely will be as entertaining in the interim is the four-day break for the All-Star Game.
